Key Personnel
Since we remain a closely held, family run business, all owners and key personnel are actively involved in both office and field operations on a day-to-day basis.  We participate in all phases of the job—estimating, field supervision, project management, and equipment operation.
 
Dennis Alber (founder) started the company and has over 50 years of excavating experience in the Northern Ohio area.  The valedictorian of Highland High School, and graduate of the University of Akron business program, his vision, hard work and perseverance have guided the company to steady growth, financial stability, and successful completion of all work to date. 
 
Greg Alber, P.E. (owner, President) has over 30 years of site work experience in the Ohio, Virginia and Washington, D.C. area.  He holds civil engineering degrees from Cornell University and the University of Virginia.  He focuses on bidding and project management for the company.  He is co-owner of Alber & Rice, Inc. Consulting Engineers and Surveyors and often acts as the engineer-of-record for design-build projects.  
 
Ben Alber (owner, Vice President) has over 25 years of first hand excavating experience and acts as the general superintendent.  He manages all foreman and field operations for the company as well as overseeing yard operations and the equipment fleet.
 
Mary Alber (office manager) has over 20 years of banking, accounting, and financial experience with Old Phoenix and First Merit banks and is in charge of accounting, accounts payable, payroll, safety and drug-free workplace programs.

Darren Alber (chief estimator) has over 30 years of excavating experience and focuses on projects during the bid and start up phase performing takeoffs, estimating, and procurement of job materials.  Darren has expertise in specialized site work takeoff software and complex underground utility construction.  He consistently creates positive relationships with developers, contractors, and engineers to ensure on-time and complete bids.
